LANE USAGE STUDY
Lane Usage Study
With more public space being taken up by the use of vehicles both motorised and non-motorised, it's important to have the data to support decisions to implement or review current cycle lanes. Our cycle path usage surveys can use either camera or bicycle-specific ATC’s to analyse sections of cycle path networks. These reports can show quantity, direction, speeds, or with a camera study; pedestrian misuse. There may also be a need to understand vehicles misusing bus lanes which can also be covered by our cameras. Understanding requirements is key to planning and implementation.

CASE STUDY
GATWICK
We were commissioned by our client to conduct video surveys of illegal vehicle parking behaviour on both sides of the South Terminal Bus Stops at London road, Gatwick Airport over a 24/7 day period.
The collected data would be used to investigate the illegal parking trend and to inform management outcomes such as enforcement or further traffic management measures.
The data showed that over the 7 days, almost 6000 vehicles used the bus stops, and almost 900 were stopped illegally.
